Kevin Harris: When you enter the convention center, one of the first things you’re going to notice is that AGS logo all over the main stage. AGS Stainless is the main stage sponsor this year and there is a huge line-up of continuing ed classes that will be presented right here on the AGS Stainless stage, including a discussion on prefabricated ornamental railings, which will be moderated by myself and we will have two top builders who will be discussing with me when they use prefabricated railings on their projects. I think you’re going to really enjoy that conversation.
Thanks for joining me here on stage. Both of you are successful builders. I was wondering if I could just start off by having you talk a little bit about your company as what you do and a little bit about yourself. Let’s start with Ryan.
Ryan Hanson of Sustainable 9 Design + Build: Sure, yeah. We’re a custom builder. We do a lot of urban infill projects in the Minneapolis surrounding metro area. We’re a green-focused builder. But most of our stuff is on the higher end of the local market I would say. We do a lot of – we tend to lean toward the modern direction. So I think that’s why the partnership with you guys works so well. Yeah, I think we use cable rails I think in almost every one of our projects I think in the last year I think. So that has definitely been something that we’ve wanted to put in our houses like that.
Facilitator: It has become very popular. No question.
Ryan: Yeah. I think in our local market, we’re one of the few that I think leans toward the modern side and that I think is why we’ve been successful actually in the last couple of years.
Facilitator: Excellent. Thanks Ryan. And then Brian, can you talk a little bit about your company?
Brian Abramson of Method Homes: Brian Abramson, cofounder of Method Homes. Method Homes is a modular manufacturer. We’re based in Seattle and Ferndale, Washington. We build architectural custom pre-fab houses that are built off site focusing on the Western states, West Coast, Mountain West, British Columbia right now.
Sometimes we do projects on the East Coast as well and by building offsite, we’re able to cut down on construction times. We’re able to streamline the process. Sometimes there are some cost savings associated with those things as well and having a pre-engineered railing system kind of goes with the whole prefabrication thing. It’s with the parts and enables us to get railings to sites where we’re not actually the installer or general contractor, but seldom with our kit of houses and works well for us.
Facilitator: Excellent. Thank you. Again, thanks to both of you for joining.
