Facilitator: So a few of the advantages of integrating prefabricated railings into your projects, number one is we take all the work away from you. So whether you’re a home owner or a builder, builders would you ever want to go back to do a drywall yourself?  


Ryan Hanson of Sustainable 9 Design + Build: No, I do not like destroying the hammer as much anymore because I have people that can do it much faster than I can.  


Facilitator: Yeah. Brian, I know you got great subs that work for you. The things that you have them do, you could do it. But isn’t it great to have somebody else that’s really good who can just knock it out?  


Brian Abramson of Method Homes: Yeah, no. With any trade, having a handle of the knowing [0:20:59] [Inaudible] and having a system. I mean we’re all about systems and finding efficiencies in construction. So anything that is really built in a controlled environment, factory be it railings or anything else, the real benefit for any type of construction really.  


Facilitator: Exactly. So again with prefabricated railings, the manufacturer builds the whole system, sends it out ready to install. It gives the builder the opportunity not to have to work with a local fabricator. So they can control the whole stair project with their own team, which they love being able to do.

We talked a little bit about how much faster it is to get the product. If you went to a local fabricator and you said, “I need railings,” it could be three months because they’ve got a whole line of work ahead of you.

So fabrication times are much shorter with prefabrication. Installation times are much faster. We install in about a third the time it would take to install an aluminum railing system because we’ve done all the cutting. All the cutting, all the welding, everything is numbered. So the builder or you if you’re installing it yourself, you’re on and off the project faster.

Quality control is improved and again, average cost for local fabrication with stainless about 400 a lineal foot nationwide were substantially below that. Again, you get a much better product. So that’s our part. Any questions that we can answer for you?
