What are Micro Star™ Lights?

Micro Star™ Lights are discreet, waterproof LED lights that AGS includes as a custom railing option on the underside of the handrail when specified by the client. AGS railing systems are prefabricated and custom-designed, and Micro Star™ Lights are no different. AGS designers work with you to accomplish a look that works for your project. The wiring is neatly concealed within the tubular stainless top rail. We recommend consulting with a qualified electrician to establish the best way to hardwire the transformer(s) to their electricity supply.

Measures 1/4″ x 7/8″ Flanged head 5/16″ OD Grommet – 1/4″ ID, 1/2: OD, 3/8″ Groove
Micro Star™ (S0801) is designed to operate on 12 Volts DC. It will work with voltages ranging from 9 to 15 volts DC.
Micro Star™ (S0802) is designed to operate on 24 Volts DC. It can be wired into household 110 AC via a transformer.
A Micro Star™ can be switched on by timer, photocell, or manually.

How Many LED Lights Can One Transformer Power?

One transformer can power up to 200 LED lights. Clients typically request two lights between each set of posts. The railing systems are custom-built, so that can vary.

Micro lights are handrail lights. — Micro Star™ handrail lighting dramatically impacts the look of the railing system when switched on after dark but are barely noticeable during the day.

Illuminated Handrails for Outdoor and Indoor Installations

Micro Star™ Lights are not solar-powered, so they are suitable for any railing application with an available electricity source. If desired, an electrician can install a dimmer switch so you can adjust the handrail lighting brightness to create the perfect look.

Need a Solar-Powered Outdoor Lighting Option?

StarLight solar-powered LED lighting is compatible with but not integrated into your AGS railing design. To illuminate your deck, you can attach StarLights to any railing post or surface. For other pathways, stake-mounted StarLights are an attractive and versatile option. The stainless steel shell and stake accessorize the AGS railing system perfectly, making your railing design even more special.
