Rooftop decks are finding their way into the design of an increasing number of luxury, multi-family residences. The images here are of AGS Stainless’ Olympic Horizontal Bar Rail System. This marine-grade, stainless steel bar rail system was custom-designed for this project and then pre-fabricated 100% offsite. Unlike the traditional metal fabrication process, custom prefabrication means there is never a need for any onsite cutting, welding, grinding or polishing of railing system components. With railing by AGS Stainless, the railing system has been componentized and the components have been numbered for easy installation. The railing will arrive at the job site, ready to be installed, with easy-to-follow installation instructions, and no special tools or past railing installation experience necessary.
Stantec Architecture, a global architectural firm, designed this beautiful rooftop amenity deck to allow the residents of 28 Exeter to enjoy some additional outdoor space in the place they call home. The setting includes an outdoor kitchen, a spa, and several lounge areas. The property is located in a premier area of downtown Boston, so developing the space was a great way to maximize the building’s potential. Ted Davis from Kensington Investment Company was tasked with sourcing a railing system for the luxury apartment building close to Boston’s financial district.

Having previously installed a railing by AGS Stainless, Ted was already familiar with AGS products, and he knew he loved the look and quality. He reached out to us to schedule a consultation to discuss a railing design for this high-end multi-family residential project.
As the job advanced, AGS’ engineering team held a conference with the developer to address the finer technical details of the proposal. As this was a union project, AGS supplied the developer with the contact info for a couple of union shops that could install the railing.
Ted was happy and confident that AGS could meet the needs of the project, and the job moved forward. AGS fabricated the stainless steel rod railing for the property’s rooftop deck and delivered the product according to Stantec’s timeline.
