I have been a designer with AGS Stainless since May 2015 and worked my way up to become Senior Designer having learned everything on the job with no previous experience in this field. When I was in high school, I started creating house plans in The Sims and realized I had a passion for it, so I decided to pursue a career in the drafting field. I started with taking drafting classes which then led me to ITT Technical Institute to become valedictorian of my class. I was hired at AGS a few short months after that.
I utilize AutoCAD and Odoo daily to mainly work on detailed, large scale commercial and residential projects all over the country, and have even worked on projects in Dubai, Mexico, and the Virgin Islands. My favorite projects are commercial because I like the challenge and being able to focus on achieving clean, detailed drawings while consistently staying ahead of schedule. One of my most memorable projects is the Mirabeau Water Garden project which included custom base plates and slightly curved and sloping walkways which added to the complexity of the design. Most of the customers I work with are contractors and architects, but I also have plenty of experience working with homeowners as well. On top of maintaining my projects, I also train new designers, upkeep blocks, tool palettes, and procedures for the Design Team, and review all stair projects prior to the Dimension Request phase and work with our Project Coordination team to ensure all of the necessary information is provided in order to create accurate drawings for customers.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending quality time with my dog and cat, and some of my hobbies include sewing, reading, writing, playing video games, watching movies, researching random topics that are interesting to me, and exploring the PNW by hiking with my sister and going camping.
