Upload Measurements for a Custom Railing Estimate
At AGS Stainless, precision is our standard. Our laser-cutting technology is accurate to 1/100th of an inch, ensuring every component of your railing system fits perfectly. This industry-leading precision, however, can start with a simple "map" of your project. A hand-drawn sketch and a few photos are all our design team needs to start engineering your custom system.
Measure and Map Your Project
Grab a piece of paper and draw an overhead “bird’s-eye view” of your deck, balcony, or staircase. Don’t worry about scale; focus on capturing the layout. Be sure to note the following details:
- Total Run Lengths
Measure the linear distance of each straight section (wall-to-corner or corner-to-corner). - Stair Geometry
For stairs, note the Total Rise, Total Run, and Nose-to-Nose measurement (the diagonal distance from the edge of the top step to the edge of the bottom step). - Desired Post Locations
Mark where you’d like posts (corners, ends, or transitions). - Obstructions and Surface
Note any pillars or downspouts, and specify if you are mounting to wood, concrete, or the side of the structure.
If you need detailed measurements, see our comprehensive guide.
